I was just curious what direction Debian might be heading. I can't say I was overly impressed, I liked their current stable release much better, but I guess it's too early to judge. One thing caught my eye when I was in Synaptic, attempting to change repository sources from the local optical drive to a network mirror. It was set to use a mirror during setup, but afterwards insisted on only using a local CD:

So, is Debian drawing on Ubuntu now? From what I've heard, the Debian developers have always looked down their noses at Ubuntu.
