    HDMI to composite converter

My PC has an HDMI out and my DVR has only composite in and they are 20 feet apart.
    Question: what's the best arrangement?
    1. a short HDMI cable to the converter and a long composite cable to the DVR or
    2. a long HDMI cable to the converter and a short composite cable to the DVR

(the DVR has a componet out to the TV. It is also a burner.)

Just an uneducated thought. But I would think that the digital HDMI signal would hold up better over the longer distance than the composite.
    My life is slipping away
    I'm aging every day
    But even when I'm grey
I'll still be grey my way
