My poor office 700MHz Slot A Athlon PC has been slogging its guts out for 33 hours on the new protein. How about you guy's?

K6-2's: about 42 hours.

Athlon 1.3: about 21 hours.

Duron 850: about 28 hours

Chugga chugga chugga... :)

Hmmm, I'm doing a bit better than most ...

From what I'm getting, this is one hell of a unstable protein. I've completed a few in 1-2 hours, but usually around 10hrs. +/- 2hrs. And no hits.:D Ah, screw it, I'm not even going to look for hits anymore.

BTW, doing 11.5x150=1725.

Doesn't anyone know rather a higher FSB or Multiplier will make UD run quicker? Thx:beatsme:

yeah my systems are taking forever to finish this new protein

p2 300 took 31 hours and got 3 hits

Tbird 1333@1500 took 37 hours (strange) and got 4 hits

but that tbird mega return got me nearly 600 points.

I believe I read on the UD Forums that it's the Multiplier. Can't remember why though...i'll try to find out.

And this damn Rainbow Brite has seen 25+ hrs on a 1.53 TB and was still churning :)

Multiplier huh? Hmm... I can push mine up to 12.5, so gonna try it tonight. I wonder if 12.5x140=1750 will work?

And correction to my last post, my system's working overtime and still at 92% after 21 hrs.

Miller did you mean a !Ghz chip at 1.33Ghz? Or are you underclocking the chip? If your underclocking may I ask why?

My 2 machines are taking quite awhile too,20 hours+ at 80 odd% on the C-ABL Tyrosine Kinase protein!!

Yup I ment what I said...1.33Ghz@1Ghz :(

Im running it on a old KT7-RAID and when I run it higher it will randomly reboot and have problems along those lines.

And unfortunatly I can not update my BIOS because I think I trashed it when using a Windows BIOS flash app and rebooting half way through (thought it froze). :(

Ohwell hopefully soon ill be running at nice 1800XP chip! :D

Well, I'll be damned, my system just finished the fruity twist in under 22 minutes. Looks like the units are balancing out now, well, at least for me. So damn sleepy....zzzzzz

Ok that big unit of mine is still going. 87 hours at 88%!

Pigflipper

Yes but your running a slower machine, so it will take longer:sarcastic

Pah! Huh! Hurrumph! Stuff & Bother! Hogwash! Piffle-paffle!

I do believe myself, The Slayer and IA are top of the tree for longest time taken. I done one around 230 hours in August on a K6-2 300, The Slayer was a little ways behind that and IA was around 240 hours if memory serves me right.

Any challengers? :D

I think I have got you all beat with teh rainbow protein

tbird 1.33@1.5 49 hours 34%
p2 300 57 hours 49%
p2 300 40 hours 21%

I haven't checked in several weeks to see if my p200 is even still alive, probably not, but no big loss there.

Well, me for one:)

Hey Pigs, you may be in with a chance with the P2 300 at 21% within 40 hours, but remember you gotta beat around 240 hours to top IA.

Mind you, if it ran linear (which they don't seem to) you'd only reach around 200 hours.

Keep us posted :)

CC: If you manage to get that 133 up and running, you could do well, that's what The Slayer used I think. Mind you 'Destroyer of all good computer parts' may be a hindrance ;)

Got another question regarding speed. Does anyone know whether more RAM will increase the processing speed of UD? Have 256MB DDR w/ 1.7 XP and the damn thing ain't hauling ass. Will another 256MB do the trick?

I dont think it would make much difference.I think its being slow because my 2 machines just got a killer protein each,my PIII 450 is only at 42% at 45 hours, it usualyy does them in about 18 hours or less, and my main machine did it at around 35 hours!!

*Sigh*...all these grasshoppers need more training by the Triumvirate :D

Only if I had my old Celly Machines running these damn Tyrosine Kinase Q2-3 whaterver now...i think I could be breaking my own damn record :) My 1.5G has been turning in 1 result every two days because of them
:cryol:

Stone...yeah it will make a difference...not night and day diff but you should see faster results like Skamp Says. Hell I bought extra 256MB AND Intel Pro 100/S NIC just for UD...yeah Im shallow...I need to be rated high :P
