My UD has been on 94 percent for over 10 hours. It got that far in about 2 hours. "Conformers" keep changing. In fact, I think I lost 1 or 2 cpu hours for some reason. Any thoughts?

Most of the proteins we're sent to process lately seem to get very quickly to a percentage in the nineties, then take anything from 2 to 20 hours to complete.
Whilst it can seem that it's stuck and you're getting nowhere, as long as the timer's ticking away, the protein is being processed. It's nothing to worry about, just be patient. When it does eventually complete, you get the relevant points for the time spent.
As for lost CPU time, I've heard other members stating that they lost time after re-booting but I personally have had no probs with that. Mine just takes off where it left off on re-boot.
BTW, off topic here, but isn't your pharmacy in New York? If so, good to see you're posting.

I see what you mean. I have had a second computer set up and ran it a couple times. It does go to 90's as you said but eventually resumes.
Since I last posted however, I rebooted and discovered another problem. My hard drive started clicking and did not boot up. I copied it to another hard drive and am up and running again. I am going to RMA my other drive.
Regarding N.Y.C.: I am about 50 miles north of N.Y.C. I have considered volunteering my services, but I have not heard nor do I think they will need a Pharmacists services.
I have been in contact with an old National Guard buddy I served with back in the 70's and 80's. and he said to stay close by the phone just in case.
I have told the girl technicians at work that I am in contact with a guy in my computer forum called "Floppybootstomp" from the UK. They were fascinated and got a good chuckle out of your name. I have even brought a printout of a couple of "Threads" to work on a couple of interesting computer subjects. They especially liked the one you and I discussed English Jargon ie. "Pound" etc
They told me to say hi to "Floppy" heh heh. If you get a chance send an e-mail to the girls at my store, and you can also e-mail me there if you need to get in touch with me. They will get a kick out of it. Here is the e-mail address.

Hoho, Floppy has Female admirers from afar. Hmmm, would the "Girls" mind mail from other Brits to, Bart?
:hat:
Glad you are all ok over there, we feel a bit helpless here.

As a matter of fact I am sure they would get a kick out of it. Although they probably do not consider "MUCK" quite as cute as "FLOPPY".
If you do e-mail, just be sure to use some discretion, as we always do. heh, heh

Glad to hear you are ok Bart....
As for our UD question, have you had a chance to read the Team PC Article, it may provide you with some good introductory information and I have also included links to other UD specific help sites in it.
As long as the conformers keep cycling, you know UD is crunching away. Wait till you get a monster molecule which sometimes take up to 10+ hours while your progress meter looks like it has stalled :)
Thanks for joining the team once again.

I know I took the "LAZY" way out. My bad. I will read it today and not ask any stupid questions. Thank you for being "Diplomatic" with your response. I was in a hurry to contribute.:sorry:

No Apologies Needed My Friend!!
You weren't being Lazy or asking stupid questions at all!! Flops answered your question dead-on and thought it might be helpful to tell you about the article which gives good links and some tips!
Your decision to help out the project is noble in itself and I am glad to help out in anway I can! I wasn't sure you knew about the article since I have seen several members in the same situation as you when they first joined! No implications on my part at all!

Hee-hee. That's kinda funny :) OK, let me settle in a while, I just had a long, lousy journey home from working 65 miles away. Traffic jams on the M25, London's orbital motorway, then a 'kin big queue for the Woolwich ferry. All the while listening to news reports on the radio. Did not make for a good journey really :(
Will e-mail real soon.
