Speaking of more firepower, i'm sorry to say that i haven't got round to asking my mate who owns a computer store if i can install UD on the machines there :(

fell a bit behind on building those rigs... my gf popped down for a couple of days but I'll get right back on it, only problem is that the P166 doesnt have a HSF I've got a spare Socket A HSF but it uses mobo power and I dont know if the board has a connector...

Karak, if you can actually clip the socket A cooler to the 166, just snip the plug off, bare the wires and stick em straight into a spare PSU 12V DC connector (you'll possibly need a meter to identify the 12V, can't remember their colours offhand) hold 'em in with a coupla matchsticks or something.
That recommendation totaly flies against 'The good technician's guidebook' but hey, it's ghetto and it works :D

the HSF fits the socket but I didnt really want to mangle it. Might raid the big pile of electronics components on my desk at work and try and build some sort of ghetto connector for it...

The funiest one i heard was of someone who bought a cyrix chip(he obviously had low IQ :D ) and didn't get a big enough HSF or only got the heat sink. Any way he powerd up and when h smelt burning he turned it off, opened it up, and too his horror the chip had gotten so hot it had melted a hole through his mainboard :flame:
