Lets see if anyone has done this. I have a laptop running W95 :barf: and am going to reformat and install W2K. I am currently running UD and I don't want to create another new device.

I did read on the UD forums that saving the cs.ud file will allow you to do this. My question is will this also work when going from W95 to W2K? Any thoughts?

Thanx

The W2K installation went well. Thanx IA :D.

The ud didn't. I went ahead and copied over the cs.ud file before whacking my system. After installing W2K, I downloaded UD and reinstalled. I was told to not register at this point and exit the program, then copy the file into the ud directory. Upon starting ud, it was suppose to pick up my setting and name and run with it.

Well, it didn't:cryol:

I think the problem was going from W95 to W2K was just too much. I think this method works if it's the same OS.

One way to get around this device thing is to just rename the device with an X in the front of it. During nex update, it will move that device into alphabetical order moving it to the bottom of the list. I renamed my device from Laptop to X_Laptop. Pretty simple solution.

No Probs Bud :) Told ya W2K is the Sheeznit!

Re the UD, you can also just sort the devices by results returned in last x days. That will shove all the old ones down as well.
